Your donations save lives. It’s really that simple.
As an independent, nonprofit animal shelter, 100% of your charitable gift will directly benefit the animals at WCHS. Rest assured that every dollar is wisely used in the best interest of the animals, and will enable us to provide the shelter and veterinary care they need until we can find them a home.
We need YOUR help to help them. Read on to learn how you can make a difference.
Donations of time and talent by hundreds of volunteers, donations of products and services by area businesses and donations of money — very close to half of our budget — by so many people who care.
Monthly Sustaining Donation
Our Constant Companion monthly giving program allows you to set up monthly, automated payments on your credit card. It’s easy to do and gives WCHS the regular stream of revenue we need. Please swing by the shelter or call us today to set up a recurring monthly donation.
Emergency Medical Fund
When you make a donation to Wadena County Humane Society (WCHS) Animal Shelter’s Emergency Medical Fund you are helping WCHS care for dogs or cats with medical conditions that require a little extra time, attention, care, and finances. Each case that comes to us is unique – orthopedic issues such as broken bones or sprains, complicated and sometimes emergency surgeries, pets with heartworm disease, and much more.
We can only help these pets due to kindness and support from the community. We can’t thank you enough for your compassion and generosity.
Your generous donation will not only enable us to provide our animals with the medical care they need, but it will also help us to meet their social and behavioral needs as well. Our work to rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home the many animals we serve in need is dependent on the generosity of our donors and supporters. We cannot do it without you!
Memorials and Honorariums
We welcome donations in Honor of, in Memory of or in Tribute to a particular person, animal, or event.
Sponsoring a kennel provides a great opportunity for families, community groups, organizations, and companies to make sure our homeless animals have the best care and stay at the shelter, and get a little recognition in return!
Wish List Items
Check out our wish list for animal care, office, and operating supplies – your donations save us thousands of dollars each year!
Become a Super Supporter!
Want to join a club that all the cool pups and cats are talking about? Consider this your invitation! Wadena County Humane Society is launching Super Supporters, a program that encourages our friends to donate an in-kind need for us every month. For February, our top need is puppy pads. The Super Supporter of the Month (the friend who gives the most in terms of amount needed item) will be highlighted on our Facebook page.
From time to time, Wadena County Humane Society hosts fundraising and silent auctions to raise money for our animals and shelter.
Do you have an item that would be great for a silent auction? No item is too small or big! Contact firstname.lastname@example.org or 218-443-3941 for further details or to donate a Silent Auction item.
Estate and Planned Giving
Charitable bequests are one of the best ways to assist us in our mission and ensure that we will be able to provide care for animals in need for years to come.
Donate Your Vehicle
Donating your old vehicle to Wadena County Humane Society is convenient, easy, and may qualify you for a tax deduction. And best of all, your donation of a used car or truck will make a significant difference in supporting WCHS!
