Shelter Manager - Emma Davenport

Emma with Luna, Pixel, and Neelu!

Meet Echo South!

One day last summer, Echo called the shelter to see what items the animals needed. That is a phone call we love getting! She came by to drop off toys, treats, leashes, paper towels and more and then visited the animals. Before we knew it, she became a regular volunteer and then was hired on as an Animal Caretaker. Echo has proven an amazing asset to WCHS and was promoted to Assistant Manager in January 2017.

Meet Emma Davenport!

Born and raised in the area, Emma graduated from Bertha-Hewitt High School in 2005. While living in Austin, TX-the largest No-Kill city in the nation-Emma became increasingly involved in the animal rescue community. She fostered pets (including two dogs she ended up adopting), volunteered at Austin Pets Alive!, and served on the Austin Lost and Found Pets street team which worked to reunite lost and found pets with their families. Emma was hired at Austin Pets Alive! as a Dog Adoption Counselor in 2014 and was heavily involved in the dog behavior program, pet marketing, volunteer recruitment, and adoption counseling. She participated in the American Pets Alive annual No-Kill conference and has learned many lifesaving practices and policies from industry leaders. In June 2016, Emma became the new shelter manager at Wadena County Humane Society.

Meet WCHS Board Members!

We have a Board of Directors who give countless hours of their time to help the animals of Wadena County. We could not do what we do without their help!
